Reasearching Skyfall

Skyfall is the twenty-third spy film in the James Bond Series, produced by Eon Productions and distributed by MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment. It features Daniel Craig's third performance as James Bond, and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, the film's villain. The film was directed by Sam Mendes and written by John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. It was first released on the 1st of November and will be showing in all cinemas in the UK as it is a well known British film. However due to the popularity of it, on the first couple days of release people would normally have to book their seat.

Trailer: YouTube
This is a screen grab of James Bond in action which I got from the trailer shown below. It is of Daniel Craig in his suit ready to fight.

This is the official trailer for Skyfall, which was released 3 months before the release of the actual movie. 2 months before this, a 1 minute teaser was released by Sony Pictures, which is also found on YouTube. Also shown on YouTube are some presenters view on Skyfall after visiting the set of Skyfall. For example AMC's Roth Cornet returned from Istanbul where she visited the set of the new James Bond film and she gives us a intake on how it was like.

Posters:

These are 2 pictures which i have taken of bus posters with Skyfall advertised on them. Many people use the bus as their main transport therefore they would see it and go watch it and also many people are outside so they would also see it and go watch it also.

This is a picture taken from a newspaper used in order to promote the film also. It used Sky to promote it and it uses it as an excuse to get people to buy sky and watch all the James Bonds films.

Facebook:

This is a screen shot of Skyfall's Facebook page. This again is another technique to promote their film and to gain popularity.

Synergy:

This is a song made for Skyfall, sang by Adele, a famous and talented British singer. They wanted to gain popularity for the film through Adele's popularity.

Red Carpet:

This is a picture taken of the actors in the movie at their red carpet.

This is a picture taken of X-Factor contestants on the red carpet of Skyfall. They have been used because X-Factor is a very popular British singing contest and many people watch it therefore if they attend the red carpet then Skyfall will be spread more.

Trailer

This is the trailer for our Scream 48 swede. It has been made to promote our swede and as a teaser so that the public will want to watch the full video. It contains very short clips and this was done purposely to leave the audience hanging. This means it will pull the audience in and gain more views. We have used and edited scenes from the shooting to make it. The end is very slow and shows only a small clip of a girl running to leave the audience wondering whether she was caught or not.

Marketing- Poster campaign

Bus:

This is part of our billboard campaign.. This is the bus poster. It has the name of our swede along with a picture of key props on the side so that it is clear what movie we are remaking. I have written the characters names, similar to real movie posters. I have also written the date of the release so people know when to go and watch it. The colours used are quite significant to the movie, as it is quite bloody and its very dark and mysterious. This has been made on photoshop and the 'scream 48' has been used as our main title for every other marketing we have done.

Posters:

This is another part of our marketing. It is a poster which we would put around the area in order to get views. The 'Scream 48' which was made for the bus poster has been used, as it is how our title is.  It  has our release date also. Again the same colours have been used to show that this movie is quite bloody and gruesome, but this time we have used an actual picture of the killer from the shooting, this gives a more realistic feel to the swede.

Train Poster:

[Huy]
During our marketing campaign, i have decided to create an A4 sized poster in which will be used for advertising our swede. In order for us to gain popularity for our making, this poster will be put around many places in which the public will see. We have chose to put our poster around train stations and buses as these places are known to be very popular. The inclusion of special effects using photoshop on the poster causes attraction as it looks very professional and not rushed. The use of the darkness in the background and blood looking title signifies the horror of the swede, however in contrast, the use of the word "LOL" in the bottom tells us that it is a comedy/horror type of make. I have included links of websites such as Facebook, Twitter and a Youtube link so our audience can get in touch of our work. It is written in big bold letters to increase clarity. Our target audience was aimed at teenagers because research has shown that teenagers love the fear factor. The use of Facebook and Twitter are predominately teenagers and this will help us achieve our target audience as the internet is a useful way to spread our make as it is worldwide and not just the UK. Also, posters are an effective way to advertise because it is cheap, it does not cost much to print out copies. Our marketing campaign has been quite successful as we have achieved over 100 views on Youtube on the following week the video has been uploaded.

Youtube video

We uploaded our swede on youtube so that people can access it easily in order for it to become popular and well known. Youtube is the biggest network sharing site, therefore we have uploaded our swede onto here. There is a screenshot of how our youtube page looks also, which has been taken for our blog.

During the editing process

Editing

During our editing process, we have learnt how to import video clips from our HD cameras onto the computer. Using Final Cut Pro will allow us to put our videos in chronological order as during our filming, we filmed the ending first because it was necessary as at the time because if we done it later, there would be a lot of people in the basement and this will cause distraction to our filming. As we neared the end of our editing process, we chose to add some last minute soundtracks and camera effects such as slow motion and scene fading. This was done on Final Cut Pro. Final Cut Pro allowed us to cut our clips in order for our swede to look professional. We also used the filtering effect to create a tense scene of the killer attacking his victim. We also inserted our own sound clip to the swede to add atmosphere and meaning to the scene.

Shots in action (mid-shooting)

Scream in action. This is a close up shot of the killer. It shows how he looks and the props we used.

The moment everyone waits for. So the bimbo gets caught by the guy in the mask... typical!  This is a medium shot of the killer and the victim.

The result of someone who walks round a house after hearing a scream.  This is a  mid shot of the killer after he stabs the girl. The use of a black & white filtering shows that something unusual is happening.

Scream in all his glory! This is a close up of the killer, just as he is walking to the  camera.  Close up shots usually connotes the detail and expressions of an individual but this shot shows that the individuals identity is covered.

This is a harry potter swede. I chose this because the movie is very popular and seeing as it is popular then more people would watch the swedes. This swede is really funny and it changed the main character 'Harry' a boy into a girl and also it has many of the the charcaters. There is a variety of props used that match the actual props in the film. For example Professor Dumbledore has a massive white beard but they probable couldn't find one so they improvised by putting cream all over the characters mouth area. I enjoyed the harry potter movies and this swede also, as it has many of the stories and key parts of the film.
